I just got home from a very tiring workout at the gym. It was day two of my fitness training and the goal was to give me a stress test. My trainer made me pass through a series of endurance exams to check my breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and flexibility. I was asked to do some running in the treadmill for thirty minutes then my pulse rate and BP were checked. After that, I did some stationary cycling while my breathing was monitored using a spirometer.
I basically passed the heart and lung test however I failed the flexibility test. The trainer asked me to reach my toes while my legs are straightened tight and I basically just couldn’t. As my private trainer explained, I have tight hamstrings – probably due to poor posture or long hours of sitting at work.
Anyhow, in the next sessions, the trainer can now focus on giving me exercise routines to help me become flexible again. Unfortunately, to correct my posture, I need to do plenty of situps and ab workouts to strengthen my mid body, workouts which I really do not prefer doing. Oh well…
