Earlier, I received a call from my aunt, telling me about the bad news. On a very rare event, our house was struck by lightning! (Talk about luck man). As my aunt described, she was washing the dishes when she saw a flash of light and heard a  very loud bang. Next thing she knows, most of our appliances stopped working.

My brother who was the first one to come home and told me that all our digital appliances were affected. The lightning seem to have hit the power line burning the circuitry of all electronic devices at home. The air conditioning, wifi router, desktop PC and LCD TV are just some of the things he tested.

Honestly never in my life have I experienced such an event. I was not prepared. I just finished renovating my garden so I’m a little broke. Fortunately some of the appliances still have warranty on them. However my desktop ’s warranty already expired a month ago. I cannot afford to lose my desktop. I need to have it repaired to be able to do my work.

Perhaps as a consolation, I was able to easily find cyberpowerpc coupons in the net. I’ll use this to buy some parts I need to repair my desktop at home. I just hope I can still fix it. So as a tip to you guys, always unplug your appliances during a lightning storm ‘coz you’ll never know what hit you.

I wonder if those weight loss drinks really do work. I mean, they are fruit juices alright. They do have L-carnitine and stuff but will they suffice or do I still need to take those diet pills. I am trying to lose some weight but in natural ways as much as possible. Fruit juices naturally are weight loss supplements because they aid in ridding of the excess fat in the body. However, my tummy seems to become acidic whenever I drink citrus juices. Another alternative is to be a vegetarian however I hate vegetables especially the bitter ones.

So I guess I’ll just stick to going to the gym regularly. Diets do not really work for me so I’ll just avoid obviously fatty food. Sigh. This weight loss thing is starting to bug me.

Colleagues resigning, ensuring proper knowledge transfer, trainings…  I’ve been in a lot of stress recently – work and life in general.  These stresses have unfortunately turned into depression.

I’m just not happy.

Normally multivitamins would already help improve my disposition (since exhaustion and over-fatigue can really contribute a lot in dampening your spirits).  However, at the moment, I know no amount of multivitamins can help me.

I need some time to think things over and redefine or reinstate my definition of happiness and what makes me happy.  Some peace and quiet.  Then I’ll be fine.

All this deadlines are starting to get into my nerves! First I felt a lot of pain in my back, then I had acne breakouts then now my waistline blew two inches wider!

The stressful two weeks seem to have affected my metabolism. Somehow, it slowed down. Add that up with the oily food and little sleep. I just hope all ends well tomorrow because I want to sleep and just sleep this coming weekend. I’m so wasted and burned out and I might even need to take diet pills

Hmm… So why can I still blog? Well I guess this will be my outlet for stress. I am quite sleepy right now yet I am still at work. Anyhow, I guess this break is enough. Back to work now…

I was so embarrassed yesterday when I was shopping for some accessories in the department store. There was this cute lacy bracelet that I liked so I tried it out. I looked at it and I thought it looked so cool on me. The saleslady was smiling at me so I also smiled at her, thinking that it’s just part of her job to be friendly. When I asked how much for the bracelet, the saleslady replied “10 dollars for the dog bracelet ma’am”. I don’t remember blushing but I still bought the bracelet. Who could have known that I am in the dog supplies section. Oh well… at least the saleslady did not know me personally… Oh wait! My name showed up when I swiped my card! Arrrgh… this is so embarrassing really.

I just heard from the news that Metro Manila of The Republic of the Philippines were on a state of calamity over the weekend until Monday due to the typhoon Ondoy. The typhoon’s rainfall for that period was so high that the amount of rainfall over those two days was equivalent to a month of normal rainfall in the country.

A lot of areas in Metro Manila were flooded and many people were severely affected with it; that includes one of my aunts and her family residing there. Houses of a lot of people were submerged in the flood rendering some inhabitable. Even the cars were submerged. With the large number of people, houses, and cars that were affected (up to now, some are still unrescued and are sleeping on their rooftop), I have a feeling getting a house insurance, motorhome insurance, and the likes are in demand right now.

Anyway, we also heard from the news that 2 more typhoon, 1 is Parma, will be approaching Philippines as well. I hope there won’t be too much damage unlike the last one.

Picking a health insurance provider for a large company like ours is a very tedious process. I need contact a several insurance providers and talk with them about their health insurance packages. I also need to get quotations from them so that I could compare their prices against their benefits. Seeking for quotations is very difficult because it requires me to personally talk on the phone with insurance agents.

Fortunately, some insurance providers already utilized the internet for their services. For instance Blue Cross Blue Shield NC insurance allows anyone with access to the net to get detailed quotations about their pricing and offers. There are other sites like these too, although I haven’t confirmed if they really do give accurate quotations. Anyhow, it’s a part of a manager’s job. Oh life.
