I’m so happy! I finally found a secluded, cozy and secure place where I can swim to my heart’s content – at the hotel near my office! ^_^

You see, it’s been months now since I have had a regular physical activity. Normally, I either have a sports or any type of recreation to keep myself physically fit. However, I just haven’t had the time, money, and activity to go with my current lifestyle. It wasn’t until I got sick for two weeks straight just recently that I started putting more effort into looking for something to stop my deteriorating health.

Then I remembered my friend telling me that there’s a one year membership fee in the hotel near my office wherein one of the member benefits includes free pool usage. I did recall though that the price is quite hefty. But at my desperate state, with a credit card in hand, and considering that there are comfy outdoor cushions just beside the pool where I can lounge with my friends or after a stressful day at work, I was already 75% okay with the idea.

I inquired last July 30 at the hotel and, to my surprise; the one year membership fee was three times less than what I originally thought! I immediately signed up of course. To cap it off, I can have my sister as a supplementary! So we both get to enjoy free pool usage for a year (including all the other member benefits of course – 33% meal discounts, 20% off room rates, the works ;) ).

Can’t wait to swim and start getting back in shape! ^_^

Can you eat while burning fat? Lazy dieters would like to think so, and in fact, the answer is yes. There are actually foods that are not only healthy but burn fat. Here are some of the best foods to burn fat:

  • Foods rich in Vitamin C. Yes, your good old orange – the real one, not the orange juice in tetra packs – can help burn fat. Vitamin C improves the body’s capacity to burn fat and helps in processing fat as well. So, eat your oranges and other fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin C like tomatoes and bell peppers.
  • Dairy products low in fat. It’s the calcium in the dairy products that does it, according to studies. So drink milk and eat cheese with no worries – just don’t eat too much.
  • Spicy foods, especially ones containing pepper, can speed up your metabolism and help burn more calories.

Earlier, I received a call from my aunt, telling me about the bad news. On a very rare event, our house was struck by lightning! (Talk about luck man). As my aunt described, she was washing the dishes when she saw a flash of light and heard a  very loud bang. Next thing she knows, most of our appliances stopped working.

My brother who was the first one to come home and told me that all our digital appliances were affected. The lightning seem to have hit the power line burning the circuitry of all electronic devices at home. The air conditioning, wifi router, desktop PC and LCD TV are just some of the things he tested.

Honestly never in my life have I experienced such an event. I was not prepared. I just finished renovating my garden so I’m a little broke. Fortunately some of the appliances still have warranty on them. However my desktop ’s warranty already expired a month ago. I cannot afford to lose my desktop. I need to have it repaired to be able to do my work.

Perhaps as a consolation, I was able to easily find cyberpowerpc coupons in the net. I’ll use this to buy some parts I need to repair my desktop at home. I just hope I can still fix it. So as a tip to you guys, always unplug your appliances during a lightning storm ‘coz you’ll never know what hit you.

Have you ever tried using toothpaste as your facial wash? Haha, earlier I was so sleepy at work that I went to the restroom and freshen up by washing my face. Still, after a few minutes upon coming back, my eyes started feeling heavy again so I asked my colleagues to help wake me up a little bit.
A friend of mine suggested that I try washing my face with toothpaste. I thought he was kidding at first but he really was not. So what the heck, I tried it. I washed my face and rubbed a generous amount of toothpaste onto my face. It felt a little cold, but then I let it stay for about two minutes. When I washed my face, my throat nearly closed because of the cold feeling on my face. It felt like soaking my face in icy water! Yeah that woke me up for sure.
Anyhow, my friend told me that she uses toothpaste as an acne face wash. She said that the toothpaste is strong enough to remove the oil on the face which is one of the causes of acne. She did made a point, however I guess this is not yet proven by dermatologists so I suggest consulting the experts first before believing.

Sometimes the old fashioned ways are still more effective than the new. This is quite true with our newly installed fingerprint scanner.

Last month, a the HR department implemented a new timekeeping system that is supposed to increase the efficiency of our accounting process. Instead of flashing our ID to the barcode scanner, we just have to press our thumbs onto the fingerprint scanner. The machine was supposed to create a log of all the employees coming in and out of the office, but this later on proved to be very faulty.

It turns out that fingerprints are unique only if they are analyzed as a whole. Meaning, fingerprints also have similarities. The fingerprint scanner only scans fingerprints in a way that it has the tendency to miss any of the unique features - resulting to mis-identification of users with similar fingerprints.

This is what happened. After the payroll cut, the consolidated data turned out to be erroneous and the accounting needed to refer to written logs. We reverted back to the old system using the barcode scanners while the technicians are finding a way on how to resolve their problem.

Earlier my office friends were talking about zit creams. Zit creams blah blah and all. At first I thought that they were talking about biscuits (you know, oreo cream cookie). Then I realized that zit means acne. hehe. How would I know that zit means acne?

Because I am also experiencing acne breakouts, I joined the conversation. It was like a product review for all the zit creams they found effective. The reviews were different because some find them effective while some think of them as just a waste of money.

I learned so much from that chitchat. Things like how to determine authentic products, where to buy the creams cheaper, and even how to correctly apply it to the face. It was much fun really especially because non of us have those kinds of creams.

I’m still laughing my heart out with what I did earlier. It was really so embarrassing. Mich even came to my desk and we instantly laughed upon eye contact. This is really silly. Hahaha.

Anyhow, I was too curious about that pill so I did some research myself. It seems like it has some neat effects too like reducing adult acne, regulating hormones, increase vigor and strength and etcetera. Too bad those are just for men. Hmm… I wonder what will happen if women took those testosterone boosters too? Haha. Another silly idea. Maybe women will have beards and chest hair too. This is really a weird day. I think I need some fresh air.
