I’m so happy! I finally found a secluded, cozy and secure place where I can swim to my heart’s content – at the hotel near my office! ^_^

You see, it’s been months now since I have had a regular physical activity. Normally, I either have a sports or any type of recreation to keep myself physically fit. However, I just haven’t had the time, money, and activity to go with my current lifestyle. It wasn’t until I got sick for two weeks straight just recently that I started putting more effort into looking for something to stop my deteriorating health.

Then I remembered my friend telling me that there’s a one year membership fee in the hotel near my office wherein one of the member benefits includes free pool usage. I did recall though that the price is quite hefty. But at my desperate state, with a credit card in hand, and considering that there are comfy outdoor cushions just beside the pool where I can lounge with my friends or after a stressful day at work, I was already 75% okay with the idea.

I inquired last July 30 at the hotel and, to my surprise; the one year membership fee was three times less than what I originally thought! I immediately signed up of course. To cap it off, I can have my sister as a supplementary! So we both get to enjoy free pool usage for a year (including all the other member benefits of course – 33% meal discounts, 20% off room rates, the works ;) ).

Can’t wait to swim and start getting back in shape! ^_^

Can you eat while burning fat? Lazy dieters would like to think so, and in fact, the answer is yes. There are actually foods that are not only healthy but burn fat. Here are some of the best foods to burn fat:

  • Foods rich in Vitamin C. Yes, your good old orange – the real one, not the orange juice in tetra packs – can help burn fat. Vitamin C improves the body’s capacity to burn fat and helps in processing fat as well. So, eat your oranges and other fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin C like tomatoes and bell peppers.
  • Dairy products low in fat. It’s the calcium in the dairy products that does it, according to studies. So drink milk and eat cheese with no worries – just don’t eat too much.
  • Spicy foods, especially ones containing pepper, can speed up your metabolism and help burn more calories.

Losing abdominal fat also means losing fat from your body generally. Many people have the notion that you can target abdominal fat only. However, good old dieting and exercise can usually do the trick as it helps you shed the pounds, including abdominal fat.

Usually people settle for only either diet or exercise. But losing abdominal fat means doing both. And it will definitely speed up the process.

For your exercise routine, 15 to 20 minutes is usually enough, but 30 minutes makes the fat-burning process faster. Just don’t attempt 30 minutes on your first try if you haven’t been exercising in a long time. Give your body time to adjust.

A diet high in fiber, particularly from fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains, can help you feel full and cleanses your body of toxins. Remember also to drink plenty of water.

These are just some basic tips in losing abdominal fat.

I find term life insurance quite necessary these days. You’ll never know when death comes knocking on your door, and it would be helpful to think ahead.

I know most of us don’t really want to face death, but it’s something we all know we can’t evade and that we have to go through.

Sometimes imagining the worst case scenario often helps. You might end up getting a nervous breakdown if you get surprised with what happened because you didn’t prepare for it. It’s always safer to prepare for the worst than to expect the best and get disappointed later on.

I guess I’m paranoid because I am currently afraid of losing my parents. Just the thought of losing them entirely breaks my heart. I do everything I can to be preoccupied and to keep my mind off them, but I just couldn’t stop worrying, so I applied for a term insurance.

I know the thought of losing them still hasn’t left my mind entirely but at least I don’t worry so much anymore.

Let’s face it, you just ain’t getting any younger. Your metabolism started slowing down at one point in your life and you are beginning to feel older as years pass by. Fat started building up on your belly, and continue to build up unless you do something about it. The time is now, lose some weight.

There are plenty of methods available. Just choose whichever you think will work for you. Again I said “you think” because mind power can also help your determination to succeed on whichever method you chose. Here are some common methods to choose from:

  • Exercise - when done correctly and regularly, this method will help you burn fat and will give you a leaner, sexier figure. Doing exercise not only promotes weight loss but also help keep the lungs and hearth in top shape. Just remember to drink plenty of fluids regularly.
  • Diet pills - weight loss pills, appetite suppressants, fat burners, these are all basically the same. They are supplements that can help reduce weight by helping your body excrete excess fat. There are synthetic and natural types, each with its own pro’s and con’s. An example of synthetic is Orlistat, for the natural types in the other hand, irvingia gabonensis.
  • Fasting - This method is perhaps the most commonly used. Fasting may include abstaining from certain kinds of food.
  • Water therapy - this perhaps is the easiest method to follow. Keeping the body hydrated helps improve bodily functions. This includes excretion of excess fats in the body.

At a time where slim is in and overweight is out – or outcast, more and more people naturally
turn to weight loss pills. While the natural way to lose weight is still safer (i.e., diet and exercise),
the weight loss pill market has been booming.
Use weight loss pills only if you must - do not forget that you are ingesting something foreign to
your body and possibly chemical when you take these pills.
If you are really keen on taking these pills, though, make sure that you are taking a brand with
the highest safety guarantee. Do not compromise your health with results. If a product’s efficacy
is lower but its safety guarantee is higher, go for that product.
Of course, take weight loss pills only as a last resort. Best if you go on a diet perfect for your
weight loss needs first – coupled with exercise. If nothing works, though that is highly doubtful,
then you can consider these weight loss pills.

I just got home from a very tiring workout at the gym. It was day two of my fitness training and the goal was to give me a stress test. My trainer made me pass through a series of endurance exams to check my breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and flexibility. I was asked to do some running in the treadmill for thirty minutes then my pulse rate and BP were checked. After that, I did some stationary cycling while my breathing was monitored using a spirometer.

I basically passed the heart and lung test however I failed the flexibility test. The trainer asked me to reach my toes while my legs are straightened tight and I basically just couldn’t. As my private trainer explained, I have tight hamstrings – probably due to poor posture or long hours of sitting at work.

Anyhow, in the next sessions, the trainer can now focus on giving me exercise routines to help me become flexible again. Unfortunately, to correct my posture, I need to do plenty of situps and ab workouts to strengthen my mid body, workouts which I really do not prefer doing. Oh well…
