One of the perks of being promoted from Project to Department Manager in our company is having a new company mobile phone with a great subscription plan. I recently got mine almost like a birthday gift just this 27th – a black E75.
I used to look forward to acquiring the company phone. I even thought of immediately getting a phone insurance quote for it. But right now, after all the unending, galling office issues, I cannot help but associate E75 with dampened thoughts. It’s like E75=unnecessary but unavoidable responsibility.
I know these things should not affect me, and I quote from Megan McCafferty’s Second Helpings, “The ignorant take themselves too seriously. The brilliant know better and laugh at themselves.” But then again, no matter how small my problems are, I just cannot stop obsessing about them, especially if it’s related to injustice – which by the way is the case in the office.
Anyway, I thank God my friend is willing to take over my new phone for a week or two. I really hate having a new expensive gadget go unappreciated. For me, that’s worse than being stolen – a thing being unappreciated and left on the shelves (which surprisingly is what I literally did after receiving the E75). Sad right?
Now I’m sure my phone is happy with her temporary owner. ^_^ And that makes me happy as well. Until then, my E75!
