Here is a cool gift you can buy your friends – a pack of romeo y julieta 1875 cigars. hehehe.

Personally, I find cigars very elegant. They are the sort of things that regular people usually never buy. My Dad bought a pack once when I was a kid and it is still in his drawer until now, 2o years later. Cigars are like weed. The nicotine will make you feel like you have no problems in life. The feeling of sheer pleasure can make anyone feel like they are in heaven.

It is dangerous to health however. Not only to you but to people around you. If you smoke it that is. Cigars can be smoked, but typical cigar lovers only suck them until they lose their flavor. The aroma of the tobacco leaves is what makes them high. Not the smoke.

Oh and by the way, cigars make anyone look like the Godfather. Ever seen someone with a cigar? Looks like he’s either a mafia or a kgb right?

Greeting cards have been a big part of our history, in my opinion. Whenever people want to give something memorable to someone because of an occasion, they buy greeting cards and ask close friends to sign it for the person.

There exists greeting cards for almost any occasion. We all know Hallmark has been famous in this genre of the industry, but I’ve recently discovered something slightly more amusing. I found Inviting Company Invitations while I was looking for invitation cards to give out on my sister’s birthday party, and these cards are just plain brilliant.

Normally people would think that these cards are out of style, but these witty comments and brilliant design just works for me, you know?

I’ve been looking for those big greeting cards, so if you happen to browse by their website and find one or two, please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated.

Cable TV is perhaps one of the things you would love to have at home but then when you have it you never use it. In our family’s case, we have been dreaming of having cable ever since. However my Dad did not approve of it because he said that cable channels are boring. Without ads and commercials he said, TV just ain’t the same. I obviously did not take my Dad’s idea on cable channels. So now that I am working, I volunteered to pay to have cable installed.

At first everyone got stuck in Discovery, National Geographic and the cartoon network. But then after a couple of weeks, everyone was ranting that the shows just play over and over again. There is just no excitement in watching replays. So they started tuning back to the local channels. Now I noticed that no one, even me, is watching cable channels.

So now I realize what my Dad was talking about. I am now off to Rolls Roy to get outdoor tv antennas to replace cable. Weird thing however, I noticed my Dad got addicted with the HBO series “Game of thrones”. Perhaps it was because of the nudity. hehe. Oh well I learned my lesson. Never have Cable installed again.

My Mom is a great cook. She loved cooking since she was a child, my Granma told me. She always make it a point to impress us with her cooking, not just with the taste but with the presentation.

Today is her birthday. So we decided to give her a cooking party. My dad and I had it all planned out. He bought mom an expensive kitchen utensil set – knives, tongs and Teflon coated pans that my Mom had been dying to have. I bought the meats, vegetables and all the ingredients for tonight’s feast.

The plan is to spend some quality time with mother while cooking. She have not cook for all of us in a while because I have been working and my Dad has been busy with the business. So now, we will have some bonding time with her in an activity she will surely enjoy.

Oh and I bought her some Personal Creations aprons. She loves aprons and I bet she’ll find these aprons cute.

I am just so excited for tonight.

“With great credit limit comes great responsibility”…

This has been my motto with credit cards since I had one. Credit cards are a necessity these days. They do not only give you convenient shopping, it also helps you in times of dire financial need. Although some people have the idea that credit cards are from Satan, when used correctly, these cards can actually help you save. Here are some tips on how you can save using credit cards:

1. Never pay for annual fees – credit cards have annual fees. When you are charged for this, immediately call your bank and ask for a waiving of annual fee. Ask for options on how they could waive it. Usually you will just need to charge some amount of money on your card.

2. Always pay monthly dues in full – to avoid transaction fees that could really accumulate in time. Make sure you pay in full to avoid penalties. Plus if you do this regularly, you will get a good credit rating and they will usually give you annual free reversals as incentive.

3. Always know your bank’s promos – every card has promos. They just never run out of it. Promos may be rebates or reward cards you can use just like cash.

So there. Do all those things and you will definitely get some savings. Again, discipline is the key to anything.

Having a baby is perhaps one of the most exciting events of life. Usually, parents keep this a secret to their loved ones until the perfect time comes. This week, I will be helping a friend of mine prepare the party for their birth announcements.

Birth announcements are fun to prepare. Of course you need to plan ahead. In our case we manage to create a checklist of what we are supposed to do:

  1. list down your invitees
  2. select a theme
  3. select a venue
  4. see if the budget fits
  5. make reservations
  6. create invitations
  7. send invitations
  8. create a program

It is basically just like preparing for a wedding but without the formalities and the stresses. Birth announcements need not have organized programs. Just good food and a nice cozy venue will surely make the party. We are already done with steps 1 to 5. So now we are on the exciting part – creating invitations. It feels like we are in grade school all over again. Right now, I am not only helping her plan for the birth announcements but I am also planning to give her a shower party on the same day she announces it.
