Earlier, I received a call from my aunt, telling me about the bad news. On a very rare event, our house was struck by lightning! (Talk about luck man). As my aunt described, she was washing the dishes when she saw a flash of light and heard a  very loud bang. Next thing she knows, most of our appliances stopped working.

My brother who was the first one to come home and told me that all our digital appliances were affected. The lightning seem to have hit the power line burning the circuitry of all electronic devices at home. The air conditioning, wifi router, desktop PC and LCD TV are just some of the things he tested.

Honestly never in my life have I experienced such an event. I was not prepared. I just finished renovating my garden so I’m a little broke. Fortunately some of the appliances still have warranty on them. However my desktop ’s warranty already expired a month ago. I cannot afford to lose my desktop. I need to have it repaired to be able to do my work.

Perhaps as a consolation, I was able to easily find cyberpowerpc coupons in the net. I’ll use this to buy some parts I need to repair my desktop at home. I just hope I can still fix it. So as a tip to you guys, always unplug your appliances during a lightning storm ‘coz you’ll never know what hit you.

Good news! Well at least for me. I just received a call from a friend of mine, offering his landscaping services for just a minimum cost. I actually did not know that he does work like this on top of his office work. He said that he does this mainly as a hobby and of course to pay for the bills.

I emailed him my plan for the garden, things I wanted him to do. I told him about the Bonsai’s that I have already purchased and my plan to use all of them to create a Japanese inspired garden. Of course I told him about the pond which is the highlight of my garden.

For the pond, he told me that my aquarium pump will not suffice because of some technical stuff he told me about which I was not able to understand. Hehe. He suggested another type of air pump which is available from circuit city which already has a filter to keep the pond clean.

In summary, I got all the stuff He needed (just waiting for the pump to be delivered). By Saturday can start landscaping and finally bring to life my dream garden.

Gardens always are a pretty sight to see in anyone’s home. Usually, people want their gardens to have lots of colorful flowers and ferns. I, on the other hand, prefer gardens with less or no flowers at all. Just like the Japanese style gardens - lots of Bonsai trees, pebbled walkways, and ponds with ornamental fishes.

I’m planning to do some makeover on my garden at home to finally have my dream Japanese style garden. So far, I have already collected so many bonsai trees since last year. I even bought some outdoor garden lighting to make my garden pretty even at night.

All I need now is someone who can implement my designs. Probably someone who is an expert in building ponds too, ‘coz I really love ponds. If i complete this project, it will be the biggest home makeover project I’ve done yet.

I just got home from a very tiring workout at the gym. It was day two of my fitness training and the goal was to give me a stress test. My trainer made me pass through a series of endurance exams to check my breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and flexibility. I was asked to do some running in the treadmill for thirty minutes then my pulse rate and BP were checked. After that, I did some stationary cycling while my breathing was monitored using a spirometer.

I basically passed the heart and lung test however I failed the flexibility test. The trainer asked me to reach my toes while my legs are straightened tight and I basically just couldn’t. As my private trainer explained, I have tight hamstrings – probably due to poor posture or long hours of sitting at work.

Anyhow, in the next sessions, the trainer can now focus on giving me exercise routines to help me become flexible again. Unfortunately, to correct my posture, I need to do plenty of situps and ab workouts to strengthen my mid body, workouts which I really do not prefer doing. Oh well…

Yep, you’re reading it right. A simple toothpaste switch eliminated my chin acne. You see, ever since I hit puberty, I’ve been having severe acne on my chin. It’s quite irritating because there will be days where my entire face is cleared up from people except for my chin.

For the longest time now, I’ve been hunting for the best treatment for acne on the chin. It turns out that all I have to do is find what’s causing it, why it’s causing it, and how to deal with it. It was my colleague who suggested that I try switching toothpaste and see what happens. You see, there are some toothpaste brands that have very strong chemicals which can irritate your skin. More often than not, those brands that promise a lot of benefits are the ones that are really harmful.

So for those who are experiencing recurring chin acne, try switching toothpaste, and let me know if it works for you. ^_^

I wonder if those weight loss drinks really do work. I mean, they are fruit juices alright. They do have L-carnitine and stuff but will they suffice or do I still need to take those diet pills. I am trying to lose some weight but in natural ways as much as possible. Fruit juices naturally are weight loss supplements because they aid in ridding of the excess fat in the body. However, my tummy seems to become acidic whenever I drink citrus juices. Another alternative is to be a vegetarian however I hate vegetables especially the bitter ones.

So I guess I’ll just stick to going to the gym regularly. Diets do not really work for me so I’ll just avoid obviously fatty food. Sigh. This weight loss thing is starting to bug me.

My  best friend, who is married for two years excitedly called me to announce that she was delayed for two weeks already. She always had a regular period so there really is a big chance that she is pregnant. Even I am very excited for her. She was currently with her husband to have a pregnancy test in the lab. They really want to make sure they are expecting a baby so instead of trying those over the counter test kits they went straight to the doctor.

It took just a few minutes then she called me again announcing that she was indeed pregnant! She was already advised to take prenatal vitamin supplements to help in the baby’s development. Her husband even talked to me and invited me over to have dinner with them. They seem to be planning on the christening already, haha overly excited. Anyhow, I am really happy for you guys. Congratulations and keep the baby healthy okay?!
