With my dad getting old but still insisting that he’s as fit as a horse, we’ve been seeing him experiencing joint pains every now and then. It’s actually quite alarming to see him during those times. Of course, the easiest solution to that is to just have him lie down and relax. Then again, people at that age can be very obstinate.

Consequently, for his 65th birthday, we all decided to give dad a natural joint pain relief and several gift certificates for a full body massage at his favorite spa. Those, plus pray that he’ll finally acknowledge that he’s already old and needs to minimize engaging in grueling activities.

For my favorite cousin’s birthday, I made her choose among a Cole Haan pinot noir suede ‘Hena Air’ maryjane pumps, a full body massage in a luxurious spa, and a Nokia basic phone which she’s been eyeing for months now.

I was secretly hoping she’d go for the pumps since I have a dress that matches it completely. Yes, I am planning to borrow her pumps. But guess what; she ended up choosing the Nokia basic phone and all because of its very helpful feature – flash light! Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to buy the pumps on my own.

My cousin was pretty excited about getting the new phone and kept bugging me about it. Then last night, I decided to surprise her by stashing the phone amidst her books on her study table while she was talking on the phone. Inside my room, I could hear her screaming and literally jumping up and down – she was very ecstatic and touched with her new phone. In fact, she was so happy she rushed through my bedroom and kept gushing about it for more than an hour. I’m glad she liked it.

I recently attended my friend’s garden wedding in this really heavenly place – much better than the one in Reese Witherspoon’s Just Like Heaven movie. It was an intimate wedding consisting of just around 25 people.

Since the group was just small, there was a sort of get-to-know-the-guests introduction-and-message portion wherein each guests answers the , “How are you related to the Bride/Groom?” followed by, “What is your message to the newlywed?” During that part, I was amazed to find out that the one beside the groom was actually his mom. She looked like she’s merely in her thirty’s!

I approached her after the toasts, complimented her gorgeous appearance, and asked how she maintained that look and if she could recommend some top rated wrinkle cream to achieve that look. She laughed and simply said “It’s in the genes.”

I’ve been frying my brains out thinking of the perfect wedding gift for my sister. I thought of giving her something kinky like sexy lingerie. But then, she’ll probably just use it on her honeymoon then it’d be boxed up afterwards. She’ll most likely be needing a full body massage before and after the wedding; but then again, I want something that will last for a long time…

Aha! Modern furniture. You can never go wrong with it. I remember a particular L-shaped, cream sofa she’s been eyeing for months. If I’m not mistaken, there’s a Valentines sale this coming weekend in that same furniture store! It’s my lucky week, I guess. ^_^ I get to buy a very useful and highly coveted gift at a not-so-expensive price.

While the TV was talking about Anchorage foreclosures, I was on the phone talking to my sister about her upcoming wedding. She decided that it will be an intimate wedding. Only 20-30 people will be attending. Her dress was designed by her, she’ll be doing her own hair and makeup, designing the table arrangement…well just about everything.

She had always been a do it yourself gal. She wants to make sure that everything she planned was well executed. And so, she handles everything. She’s been really tired lately. Her work load makes her stay till 10pm then she has to handle wedding plans in between. Her fiancé is out of the country doing a project as well and the time zones are just complete opposites.

She lost about 5 pounds this week and 3 pounds last week. I told her to keep drinking vitamins and take some time off before her wedding. Otherwise she’ll look like a zombie.

Her wedding is next week. I’m so excited for her. We all have our dresses and are ready to rock her wedding day. Best wishes my dear sibling!

Too often I see movies depicting the future world as either a desolated planet or a junkyard of metal garbage. I wonder why they do not make movies that show the world with a balance of nature and modernized structures.

The idea came from some team building activity we did earlier. We were asked on how we would like the future world to be. Also, we were asked how we see the future based on the current situation. They let us draw our ideas as a team on a big white board. Surprisingly, the other teams have also drawn the same ideas. All teams wanted the future world to have dense forests yet modern buildings and high tech floating cars. One of my teammates even drawn people with electronic cigarettes! It was funny until he said that he already had one. Cool. Anyhow, there were also other activities done but most of them had something to do with loving nature. All in all, we were made aware of what we must do to conserve nature for the next generations.

Oh and Team building activities like these are fun, especially if you have lots of friends in the office and if you always win the contests. RED TEAM RULES!

Guess what?! I WON THE RAFFLE!!!
Earlier I attended a fund raising exhibit about the newest tech gadgets soon to be released in the market. The event was sponsored by top PC manufacturers to showcase their newest line of computer products. The exhibit was more like the E3 convention but better…

Yep. I just said that the exhibit I attended was way better because they are giving away freebies (and lots more freebies!). Of course there was an entrance fee but I did not mind because my company sponsored me to attend.

Oh, did I already mentioned that I won a 500 gig flash drive? You heard me right! I was just so damn lucky today. I got some cool stuff like organizers and CD’s, plus I won the raffle! I still can’t believe it is all real. Now I won’t have to use my office PC just to backup my music files plus I have a new gadget to brag about to my friends. Hehe.
