I have been asked by my cousin, who’s a doctor, to go on a medical travel with her for the longest time. I kept declining because of work and because my boss will have a fit if I add another three-day vacation on my planning resource sheet for this year.

I did promise her that I’ll set aside three-days next year just for that. She was happy and I’m actually looking forward to it. After all, I get to travel and help some people at the same time (but it’s really more of the free board and lodging and food that made me say yes 0;) ).

My colleague Allan is planning to buy a 24 inch LCD monitor with his recent increase. He was first planning to get the same Chimei that I got two months ago. I told him though that it’s better to just get the Samsung 24 inch since the Chimei’s price hiked up and it’s now almost at par with the Samsung pricing.

He concurred of course. In fact, he already went to the mall to go over some tv stands that can handle his dream 24 inch monitor; one that will match his room, definitely. I’ll be accompanying him when he gets his 13th month pay to help him test the 24 inch LCD monitor.

Since our company liaisons officer retired, we run out of office supplies more often. He was the one responsible for the inventory and purchasing of supplies. He does his job so well that we have never experienced shortage of supplies, ever. Now, My boss took the responsibility of doing the inventory task, but as expected, he is so busy doing other things. Good thing I was able to find a solution. I bought the supplies myself online! My boss was so glad that someone had the initiative to do the job. Maybe this is my chance to ask for a raise? Hahaha. Kidding. Anyhow, Most of the employees miss the old fella. It’s not everyday that you find someone around here as prudent and as kind as he is .

After a relaxing week in Davao, I’m back in my loft sorting the stuff I took home from the trip. I’m still on vacation so I can still relax and adjust to reality. Davaois such a paradise. I have never seen so much nature jammed up in one small island. Everything was perfect; the tropical climate, the beaches, the people, and of course the food.

I bought some interesting stuff there like strawberry jam, pineapple candies, ube ketchup, mango shampoo (okay, I made up the shampoo, but the ketchup was serious). I also bought bedsheets and outdoor cushions which were hand made. If only I had more time to shop there I could have bought more. Anyhow, I’ll post my pictures later.

To experience the beauty of gulf shores with laid back atmosphere and unwavering warm temperature year round … That’s what my family and I will be doing this December!!!

Jealous? Wait til you hear where we’re going… to Guimaras! It’s the next Boracay in the Philippines. Aside from the lush island scenery, there’s attractions for all ages such as the Trappist Monastery, Macopo and Sadsad falls, and a lot of spectacular beaches to relax and sunbathe on. To cap it off, we get to taste the sweetest mangoes in the world!

The Guimaras Island is famous for producing the sweetest mangoes in the world. Guimaras mangos are reportedly served at the White House and Buckingham Palace. Guimaras’ largest event of the year is The Manggahan Festival (the Mango Festival).

Pretty exciting, huh? 0:p

Time runs so fast that even houses are now built in an instant. Just now, I talked to a sales agent offering me package deals on manufactured homes. He learned from a family friend that we wanted to build a small house in our vacant lot. I was amazed to learn that a small house can easily be built now in just a few days! Even better is it is very cheap.

This idea of modular houses is a great development in housebuilding. Especially since typhoons and hurricanes are common nowadays. I’ll definitely tell this to my dad. I bet he’ll agree on this because it’s cost efficient and fast too.

Yesterday we did a clean up of the whole house. Since all the renovations have been completed, we will now start decorating for Christmas. I was so tired yesterday because I was assigned to clean up the kitchen. I had to scrub everything from the floor to the kitchen sink. All this because I had no money to contribute for the decorations, haha. Fortunately, my boss allowed me to take the day off and just work on Saturday to compensate. Now I’m going to sleep and eat all day.

By the way, I received a post card from a friend of mine in the Philippines. She said that she was planning to start a small boutique selling baby’s accessories and stuff. I’ll try to contact her later in skype. I have lots of things to suggest to her and maybe I could even supply her of items from the states.
