Picking a health insurance provider for a large company like ours is a very tedious process. I need contact a several insurance providers and talk with them about their health insurance packages. I also need to get quotations from them so that I could compare their prices against their benefits. Seeking for quotations is very difficult because it requires me to personally talk on the phone with insurance agents.

Fortunately, some insurance providers already utilized the internet for their services. For instance Blue Cross Blue Shield NC insurance allows anyone with access to the net to get detailed quotations about their pricing and offers. There are other sites like these too, although I haven’t confirmed if they really do give accurate quotations. Anyhow, it’s a part of a manager’s job. Oh life.

My company has been planning to create and distribute a quarterly splash newsletter for all the employees. They’re even tying up with Starbucks to have it distributed to the general public, perhaps place it in some eye-catching cardboard display for more visibility.

The only problem is, I’m not in favor of the printing. Companies like ours should really do their best to go paperless. I mean, everyone in the office has a computer and internet connection. Online newsletters would be as effective and will cost much cheaper than a print one. Well that and the fact that most of our company news are already published on our website.

Then again, I already told them about it and they still want to push through with the newsletter in print… at least I did my part in saving the trees. *curtsy*

For the first time since my HSBC Red Mastercard was activated, I saw my billing statement at zero (0) balance this August! I would like to thank my Nth Level Friend and Executive Secretary for Finance, Mark, for making this possible. ^_^

With zero (0) balance comes great responsibility… and 10 times more will power on not to swipe it. Hehehe. Now that I’m almost debt free, I’m actually thinking of availing some term insurance (I terminated my old insurance just so I could use the money to pay off my credit card debt). Then again, I think I’ll use my initial savings first to pamper myself by going to Japan. After all, I already have a place to stay there so all I need to pay for is just the air fare. Or maybe I can finally fulfill my since-high-school dream – go to an Asian Cruise! What do you think?

Right now I’m choosing between going home early and going home “earlier”. My head hurts so badly because of last night’s birthday bash we gave our good friend. Mark, our birthday boy, was stunned to see his teammates and I, waiting at his apartment bringing lots of food and booze. At first he would not let us in because his house was messed up and his apartment was way too cramped for us all (10 guys 7 girls). But we forced our way in and did not mind what he was saying. Then, we set up the Xbox and started the party. We played, we ate, we drank, and we at a lot more. I guess I’ll really need those fat burners this time.

It was a fun night, if not for this headache. I swear I just had 2 glasses of that sake. I had no idea that Japanese wine could give me this kind of hangover. Anyhow, Happy Birthday Mark! Hope you had a great time (cleaning the house).
