Flowers are becoming stylish and are no longer just associated with courting and boy-girl relationships. It can represent all types of affection – a thank you from granddaughter to grandmother, appreciation of a student to his/her favorite teacher, a happy birthday of one girl friend to another, etc.

Unfortunately, and as always, the delicate and striking flowers such as Casablanca Lily, Hydrangea, Holland Tulips, Stephanotis, and the exotic Blue Roses are pretty expensive. For something ephemeral, I often think more than twice before buying flowers for someone (unless the recipient prefers Everlasting, of course). Then again, with discounts like Interflora’s voucher code, you will definitely see my family, relatives, and friends (perhaps even my colleagues) carrying a bouquet of flowers every now and then – from me!

For those interested, Interflora’s voucher code is “web123″ which is worth $4.99 off your order. Do take note that there is a minimum spend of $19.99 to be able to avail of the discount, and the promo period will last until October 31. The good thing about the $4.99 discount is that you can convert it as ”free delivery” or ”free chocolates”. Although chocolates are nice add-ons, I would go for the free delivery if I were you. It’s more practical.

My mom and dad are currently using a second hand maroon Mitsubishi Lancer. When both their pension resumes this year, they said they’ll buy a new car and hand down the Lancer to me. It’s a 1998 automatic model, and other than the fact that it needs some paint job and the tires ought to be replaced, the car’s in good condition. It may not be an old model, but hey, it gets me to my destination. So, why not? ^_^

I’ve been planning several road trips, but as of the moment, I am not allowed to drive it farther than the nearest city; unless my dad tags along of course. I wish tomorrow’s already 2010 so I can start inviting my friends on road trips.

I used to think that accessorizing is a waste of time and money. That is, every morning, selecting which accessories goes with your clothes eats up a lot of your time. Also, when you go to malls, the money you spend on those accessories, if pooled together, can actually amount to a substantial savings. Well, maybe I am exaggerating a bit…

I changed my outlook with accessories when I watched a lifestyle program tackling the importance of accessorizing and where to get wholesale fashion jewelry. Simple clothes can look elegant with the right jewelry. Also, with a simple mix and match, you can get a sophisticated, classic, simple, or just smart-casual look. You no longer need to buy expensive dresses just to have your desired effect.

Buying accessories is actually more of an investment and you need not have a chest full of frostings. All you need are the basics like a watch, pearl earrings and necklace, simple jewelries with nicely cut diamonds, dangling silver earrings, classic black belt… mix and match them and you’ll have a great effect – timelessly stylish.

I’m one of those obsessive compulsive people who have been dubbed as “girl scout” by my family and officemates. You see, I’m always prepared.

First aid kit, pepper spray, pen, mini notebook, alcohol, safety pin… you name it, I have them not only on my traveling bag, but my everyday bag as well – all in miniature of course to make sure that my bag is not that bulky. Some people think I’m over reacting with this stuff, but if they experienced all those mishaps I encountered, they would be thankful that they brought with them those stuffs.

Prevention is better than cure, but bringing the “cure” with you is WAY better than waiting for the cure, don’t you agree?
